Why we use AZO-FREE dyes.
A special feature on world EARTH DAY
We are passionate about creating sustainable textiles, which is why we insist on using azo-free dyes. The aim is to cause as little ecological damage as possible in the process of creating our bedding and nightwear.
People are becoming much more aware of the importance of reducing pollution and slowing down global warming. These are both issues we address and look to reduce throughout our production process, including at the pre-treatment, dyeing and after-care phases of production.
Azo-free dyes do not require a mordant and printing is done directly onto the textile. (direct printing) The colours may not be as vibrant using this method, but that is a small price to pay for the many benefits provided. We have chosen a more muted colour scheme for our designs anyway, as this is better suited to our western style interiors. Have a look at our collections here
These azo-free dyes do not contain any harmful, toxic or carcinogenic compounds. This means you can feel safe when using our products, knowing that there are no potential health risks.
This also means that there are no harmful chemicals released into the environment during the production process, and the water used can even be repurposed since it is not polluted with chemicals as is the case with other dyes.
In addition to this, the post printing techniques of these low impact dyes require much less water usage than other dyes.
This means a lot as water is so precious!
Even if the water isn’t re-used, at least it doesn’t pollute wildlife and nature to the same extent as other dyes do.
These azo-free dyes also ensure that our workers in India are not exposed to potentially harmful chemicals on a daily basis.
One of our factory’s priorities is to treat their workers fairly and to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.
Using azo-free dyes takes us a step closer to more environmentally friendly textile production processes.
All our products are produced and created with sustainability in mind, and we are aiming to be as eco-friendly as possible.
Hopefully after reading this you will able to make a more informed decision when buying our products!
