How many Dohars do I have in my house?

How many Dohars do I have in my house? - Shades of Cool London

I was on holiday in Goa, when I first came across a Dohar. My friends and I visited this little quirky boutique that only had two in stock. I bought just one to begin with, which had a blue and white pattern of Japanese waves.

I went back the next day and got the second Dohar too (it was also blue and white with single feathers in a triangular pattern) you can see a similar one here

I had to leave behind some of my clothes with a friend to make room for them and keep my suitcase under 20kg! Luckily, I could leave my clothes with a friend who lives in Goa, she did bring my clothes back to the UK about a year later!

When I got home and began to use the Dohars all around the house, I realised I was totally in love with these new blankets.

Buying Dohars in the UK.

This new obsession got me trawling the internet to try and buy some more, but I found quickly that they were just not available anywhere!

I have collected Dohars ever since

How do I use my Dohars?

First of all, Dohars and bedding!

It can be tricky to put together bedding for each season that is comfortable and adaptable for your ideal sleeping environment.

We are all becoming so much more aware of how important good sleep is to our health.

On my own bed I use a Dohar as an undersheet and a second one as a top sheet under my duvet and quilt in winter or just with my quilt in spring and autumn.

You can see the bed set combinations here!

On hot summer nights, I will just use a Dohar by itself, it helps me stay cool in bed (because the 3 layers trap the cool air) but it is so much more comfortable than a single sheet.

Dohars make great throws!

I have a couple on my sofa for snuggling up whilst watching the television. They are handy and practical in the garden as a throw or a picnic blanket. And I always take one on holiday as there are so many uses for them at the beach, pool or even for comfort on a long-haul flight.

Dohars are a great option also if you are allergic to wool because they are made of natural cotton.

These Dohars become softer over time as you wash them. My original two I bought in Goa all that time ago are still in daily use and are softer than ever.

I have 11 Dohars now and I am still collecting!
